Plans for the great 21st annual
Anamosa Pumpkinfest and Ryan Norlin Memorial
Weigh-Off are underway! This year the theme
is “Sowing the Seeds of Knowledge”.
All parade entries must adhere to this
theme. The parade will be held in downtown
Anamosa on Saturday, October 3, 2009
beginning at 2:00 p.m. |

As in the past, we will
have three judging categories for the
Pumpkinfest parade. They are Business,
Non-Profit, and Children. In
each category trophies will be given for
first place, and ribbons for second and
third places. We look forward to seeing
what your creative spirits do with this
interesting theme! |
|
A form can be downloaded below and we ask
that you return the form as soon as
possible. A number will be assigned to each
pre-entry and this number will be your order
of go. Numbers will be handed out as you
enter the parade grounds, beginning at
11:30 a.m. You cannot register the
day of the parade. Enter the staging
area from the top of Walworth Street (next
to West Middle School) and your number will
be assigned. You will be directed where to
park your float at that time. Once your
float has been parked, you may leave if you
wish. We will start judging floats at 1:15
p.m. so you must be with your float at this
time. The parade will start promptly
at 2:00 p.m. |
For safety reasons, those groups
distributing candy at the parade must have
walkers distribute the candy to the crowd.
Please do not throw candy during the parade.
It is our goal to keep the crowd back from
the floats for the safety of the children.
Please remember to save candy for
those children at the end of the parade.
All youth under age 16 operating motor
vehicles must be accompanied by an adult. |
Thanks for all you do to make our parade a
success and a highlight of the Anamosa
Pumpkinfest.
See you at the parade! |
